Interested in starting a business in McKenzie County?
McKenzie County has a number of resources to help you find financing, a building, available labor or transportation. The County Job Development Authority was established to promote primary sector business development. The JDA works with the Watford City Economic Development Corporation to identify and assist new and expanding business.
The JDA also works closely with the Small Business Development Center, which is open to help new and existing business owners with all facets of owning and operating businesses including business plans, cash flows, loan preparations, research and many other small business items.
Roughrider Application
A link to the Roughrider Fund Application is available below. If you prefer, applications may be picked up at City of Watford City Offices or McKenzie County Job Development Authority
1. It is recommended that applications be filled out in consultation with Gene Veeder of McKenzie County Job Development Authority to expedite the process and assure completeness of application
2. Applicants may be required to consult with the North Dakota Small Business Administration (SBDC) offices after initial consultation
3. Applications must be submitted to McKenzie County Job Development Authority or the City of Watford City Roughrider Fund third Monday of the month to be considered for the monthly agenda 4. Applicants are encouraged to present their project to the Roughrider Fund Board as agenda items
