McKenzie County Community Orientation

We are excited to announce the launch of McKenzie County Community Orientation! The purpose of this orientation is to familiarize McKenzie County residents with the community and share ideas on ways to be involved and plugged into the community.

This will take place the first Thursday of each month from September – December 2024 at the McKenzie County Heritage Park. The Orientation will consist of hearing about various community activities, things to do, ways to be involved, and a community bus tour pointing out areas of interest. Doors open at 1pm (with snacks sponsored by Watford City EDC), and orientation starts at 1:30pm and ends at 4:30pm.

The registration fee is $10/participant. Each registered attendee will receive handouts as well as a $20 gift card to the Merc at Long X once the orientation is completed. To register click on the date and fill out the info (same format and content each time so an individual only needs to register for one of the dates):

Employers— Community engagement correlates with workforce retention; consider sharing this opportunity with employees (new and/or long-timers) and let us know if you need us to verify attendance. Family members can attend as well (but each must register). This 4 month pilot project is sponsored by McKenzie County Job Development Authority and Watford City EDC. We will evaluate later in the year as to if this is something we want to continue, tweak, or discontinue for 2025. If you think this is something of value please share with those who might benefit.
