Housing
McKenzie County has seen a substantial increase in new housing developments and apartments over the past decade thanks to robust energy development. The McKenzie County Job Development Authority has implemented two programs to help stimulate additional single-family housing construction:
- The JDA Home Builder Construction Loan Participation Program was launched in June 2023.
- The Housing Development Subsidy which ran from 2019-2022, incentivized up to $50,000 towards the development of certain single-family housing within McKenzie County.
- In 2020, an RFP for the Shovel Ready Lot Grant program was released. For the program 79 lots from Stenehjem Development and 55 lots from Stepping Stone were selected. Those lots are priced at a maximum of $50,000 and all lots should be developed by 2026.
