McKenzie County 4-H: 4-H provides hands-on, real life experiences through projects, activities, and events to youth in McKenzie County. 4-H is a very popular within the community and always looking to have new members join. We host events and programs that celebrate the history and heritage of McKenzie County. Our big annual event the third weekend in September is Heritage Days – live demonstrations of horse powered agriculture – thrashing, bucking hay & trades such as wood milling and blacksmithing.
In the Wintering Well series, we reconnect with the old fashioned creative arts. Slow down & Savor the secrets of winter. In Hygge style, make lefse, crochet, preserve, experience fellowship and friendship on Friday nights from December – March.

Calli Thorne is a keynote speaker, global leadership trainer, mindset coach, and multi-business entrepreneur. She is married to her husband CJ and they have three young children. Calli grew up on her family’s farm and ranch in Watford City, ND. Today they are raising the fifth generation on that same land while raising cows, crops, kids. They also own and operate a USDA federally inspected beef plant.

Calli is a certified member of the John Maxwell Leadership Team where she specializes in personal and professional development including conflict resolution, communication, mindset impact, and understanding behavioral styles. She also offers Mental Health First Aid certification classes and a variety of masterclasses, workshops, retreats, and trainings. Her ultimate goal is to assist others in expanding their perspectives while challenging them to live life better and reach their personal and professional goals.
